Irons, Sifters & Spiders: 100 Years in Northwest Kitchens

A
collaborative project between the Portland Culinary Alliance and the
Oregon Historical Society, this 4,000-square-foot exhibit belied the
adage "too many cooks spoil the broth." Instead, the "cooks"
produced three complete period kitchens from the 1890s to the present,
a special section devoted to cooking on the go, and a video featuring
period advertising and homemaker programs. Additional vignettes included
food preservation, housekeeping, gadgets, laundry and electricity
