Melissa Leventon, ASA
Fashion and textile specialist Melissa Leventon, ASA co-founded Curatrix Group and Museum Consultants in 2000. Formerly Curator-in-Charge of Textiles at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, she is both an accredited senior appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers and a veteran museum professional. Under the Curatrix Group umbrella, Melissa has provided appraisal services to individuals, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, law firms,  and the insurance industry, and has worked with museums in the U.S. and abroad on exhibitions, collection management, and management consulting.  Her past exhibitions feature a broad range of media, from contemporary glass to the Dead Sea Scrolls as well as a wide range of costumes and textiles. Since 2006, she has also served as senior museum consultant to the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles in Bangkok.

In addition to appraisal and museum work, Melissa is a Senior Adjunct Professor at California College of the Arts in San Francisco, where she teaches fashion history and theory. She is an in-demand public speaker and has authored or contributed to numerous exhibition catalogues and journals.
